In December, the government voted to legalize abortion in Sierra Leone. The president still has not signed the bill yet to make it an official law. The president needs to sign it because it would help save the lives of women who cant make it through child birth because they cant afford the care they need to have a successful birth. This article shows the struggle within politics to turn towards the new but also afraid to leave the past and traditional values.
